How to add a popup or banner to your Squarespace website
Popups and banners can engage visitors with offers, relevant content and clear calls to action. Set one up in Pagecloud, then add its embed code to Squarespace.

Getting started with a popup strategy
A few steps to provide value without disrupting the visit.
- Define your goals Decide what you want: more sales, more leads or attention for a new product. Clear goals guide your design and placement.
- Know your audience Think about what visitors want and what you can offer them: discounts, exclusive content or helpful resources.
- Design thoughtfully Make it easy to read, visually appealing and give it a clear call to action. Avoid designs that frustrate visitors.
- Test and refine Use analytics to track performance and make data-driven adjustments.
Configure Pagecloud
To show a Pagecloud popup or banner on a site hosted elsewhere, you configure it in Pagecloud first, then add its code to Squarespace.
- Configure your domain name
- Define the pages you want the popup to display on
- Copy the embed code to use on your site
Add your domain name
- Go to your Pagecloud dashboard.
- Select your project and click Banners and Popups in the left menu.
- Click Settings on your banner or popup.
- In Setup, make sure you’ve connected your domain name in the Where to display section.
Select pages
Once a domain is connected, choose the pages where the popup or embed displays: every page, or only some. We recommend Include pages, which lets you pick individual pages without making more updates to your website.
- Select Include pages.
- Click + Add pages.
- Add the name of your page.
You can also use wildcards in the form /mypage*,
which matches /mypage, /mypage2 and so
on.
Copy the embed code
Find your embed code in your Pagecloud dashboard, at the bottom of Setup or in the left toolbar.
Configure Squarespace
Choose whether the code goes on all of your Squarespace pages or only some. Placing it on all pages means you can use Pagecloud’s display settings from Step 1 to choose where the popup appears, and change them later without updating your website. To add a Pagecloud popup or banner to all pages, use Squarespace’s Code injection tools.
- Make sure you’ve copied the Pagecloud embed code, as described in Step 1.
- Paste the HTML code into the Header section of the Squarespace Code injection tool.
- Click Save.
